Curly Cut Hair Prep Instructions

To ensure the integrity of your Curly Cut service and allow me to accurately assess your unique curl pattern and shrinkage, all clients are required to adhere to the following preparation instructions.

> Please note: If a client arrives with hair that requires extensive washing, detangling, or restyling before the cutting service can begin, an Unprepared Hair Fee of $50 will be applied to the service total.

1. Cleanse and Condition
* Wash Day: Your hair must be freshly cleansed and conditioned within 2 days of your appointment.
* Detangle Completely: Thoroughly detangle your hair while it is saturated with conditioner in the shower.
* Clarification: If you use heavy products (butters, oils, or products containing silicones), please perform a clarifying wash 1–2 weeks before your visit to ensure no build-up is obscuring your true curl pattern.
2. Drying and Styling
* 100% Dry: You must arrive with your curls completely dry. Damp or wet hair prevents the precise curl-by-curl cutting technique.
* Styled to Your Normal Definition: Please style your hair using your usual styling products at the amount you normally use. This is critical to expose your natural curl definition and shrinkage so I can accurately determine the final shape and balance of the cut.
3. Presentation: Undisturbed Curls are Essential
* Wear Curls Down: You must arrive with your hair completely down, loose, and undisturbed.
* No Manipulation or Stretching: Do not stretch, manipulate, or reshape your curls in any way that alters their natural pattern. This specifically includes:
* No twist-outs, no braid-outs, no rod sets or flexi-rod sets, etc.
* No pre-stretching of your curls in any way, shape, or form.
* No "pineappling" or securing the hair in a high pony, as this stretches the curl out of its natural shape.
* Avoid Accessories: Do not use ponytails, clips, braids, buns, hats, or headbands. These accessories dent, stretch, and alter the natural fall of your curl pattern, making the cut inaccurate.
